25 Years of Experience

My journey began in the 70s when my dad opened up his own shop with his brother restoring antique cars, sport cars, muscle cars, and collision repair. I spent a lot of time at his shop, and loved being around cars growing up and playing with the equipment. That shop would close due to health reasons from my dad, but just because that shop closed did not mean my passion for auto body would die.

In high school I was able to get a job at a local body shop sweeping and organizing the shop floor, taking out the trash, cleaning the bathrooms, washing cars and other miscellaneous tasks around the shop. I knew I had to work my way up, but at this time all I wanted was to be around the cars, the smells, dust, sparks and sounds. I knew my chance would come one day to take on more responsibilities, and it did.

Soon I was given more responsibilities such as ordering parts, helping the mechanics disassemble, cut grind, beat and bang on panels. Then painters and the head detailer would take me under their wing and show me their craft. . As my experience and knowledge grew I grabbed the attention of the staff in the front office. They took me on and I learned how to read estimates and translate them into the jobs being processed on the shop floor, and soon after I began to write estimates and prepare repair orders.

In 1999 I went from a shop that produced a little more than 100 repairs a month to a shop that turned out close to 300 cars a month. This was the Big Leagues! The 10 years at that shop gave me so much experience and knowledge which lead me to meet many great people in the industry.

In 2009 that shop was acquired by a larger company, and because of that new opportunities would open for me. My determination to learn was able to I was able to get the attention of the owner of the company who would share his story and ambitions with me, which would soon become my ambitions too. Under his guidance my experience and knowledge of the business side of the industry grew rapidly. I was trusted with the responsibility of setting up newly acquired locations alongside a great partner.

The last 25 years have been practice for APEX Collision. It has lead me to give back to this wonderful industry that has been so good to me and my family. I will raise the level of quality and service, not only to the customers and business partners, but also the employees. Allow me to share my experience with you and show you what a car family experience is all about.
